Happy New Year!

May all your resolutions be of your heart and not the world.

Romans 12:2 ~ Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (ESV)

Another perspective on New Years…

I love reading Beth Moore’s blog…well honestly I love reading anything by her. ;) Her most recent post about the New Year is a must read. She makes an excellent point that we can have a “new year” any day of the year. To quote my favorite part of her entry…
“Because of Christ, we can have a new beginning any old time. We are never further than about 18 inches from the next new start. All we have to do is hit our knees, repent, and ask God sincerely if we could just begin again.”
How right she is! Kneeling in prayer is so powerful. We need not wait for the new year, new week or even the start of a new day…right now is our new moment.
Head on over to her blog and take a few minutes there to read this fabulous post… The LPM Blog

Happy 2008!

A new year and a new blog. I can’t help but wonder what treasures lie ahead for both. I think that is how we have to view a new year. Not look at empty resolutions and “I have to’s” but rather look for the treasures God has waiting for us. He has so much He is eagerly holding for us in His loving arms. So in this new year instead of writing a resolution list I would challenge you to start a new tradition of a treasures list. Open His Word and seek out the scripture treasures that speak to your heart. That is a list of promises that will NEVER be broken!
Happy New Year!
